Mentees Eligibility Requirements

Be enrolled in High school

Obtain parental/guardian permission and ongoing support during your participation in the program

Complete the screening process

Demonstrate a desire to participate in the program by submitting a Mentee application (see below)

Be willing to abide by Mentor N Motion program’s policies and code of conduct

Commit to spending a minimum of four hours a month with your mentor

Be willing to communicate with your mentor using video conferencing

Agree to a one-year or the duration of a mentoring session commitment (TBD)

Agree to attend mentee trainings as required by the program

Be willing to communicate regularly with our program coordinator to discuss mentoring activity information quarterly or as needed

Participate in feedback surveys

Notify your mentor ahead (at least 1 day in advance) if you cannot meet your commitment

Be mindful of your mentor’s time

Suggest training needs and refer other youth and mentors to the program

Not be a convicted felon. If the applicant has been convicted of a felony then they may be considered only after a period of seven years with demonstrated good behavior and an appropriate & corrective attitude regarding past behaviors.

Not be a user of illicit drug

Not use alcohol or controlled substances in an excessive or inappropriate manner

Must have the time and availability to meet with your mentee.

Be a seasoned professional in your field who can share quality information with mentees

Preferred but not required: Help arrange shadowing, paid,or unpaid internships with your employer or other organizations
